A New Found Passion!

Lately I’m into hiking and I just can’t stop! It all started with the Waterfall Camp up north. I had heaps of fun sitting at the back of the 4x4 going on bumpy roads, crossing streams into the camp site. Nevermind the numb-sensation on my ass after that 40 mins ride.

The camp site wasn’t all that fantastic, rocky landing…making tents on it was almost impossible. Camp was just next to the stream, where we swam, bath, cook, wash up and well…..answer nature’s call.

While we were there we met a bunch of strangers on 4x4 who camped next to us. When I say 4x4 – I meant the REAL 4x4 – equipped with suspension, pulley, giant wheels and all. Luckily they weren’t a bunch of old farts – quite a mixed group too – age wise. Met this guy name Damian who showed me how fun it could be, ramping into the stream and drive up muddy hills with a 4x4…it was soooo fun!!! The 4x4 actually can go up and down a 80degree cliff – something I did not know till ..well, now! *No, I don’t watch much TV either!

From that camp on, a new passion was found. Camping & Hiking!

I’ve always liked them, but it’s just that I have not done it for the longest time because most of my friends are happy in the comfort of their own gyms and occasional spa. I however, has never been cut off as a person who would pay shit load of $$ to go for spa when I can go for a thrill seeking adventure.

Like sex, once you get the taste of if – you keep wanting more!

I hiked up Broga Hill with my hommies, went to Bukit Gasing alone, ended up not climbing cos it rained. But because I am never satisfied – I kinda forced Melvin & Kuan Mei to go with me again just to make myself happy (Yes, I tend to do that too)

2 months or so back, I went for this 7 hours hike up to Cameron Highlands - which was like totally awesome! Did I mentioned TOTALLY?

6,000ft above sea level!

No sun!

Rainforest!

Feeling the mist!

Gigantic roots!

Slimy green algae everywhere.

Mushrooms!

I was overwhelmed!

Hell, that place looks like the set from Lord of the Rings. It was almost magical. The climb started at about 7.30AM - half way through it started to pour but it was too late to turn back then so we pull over a poncho and continued our journey. 3½ hours up and there we were, overlooking the most amazing scenery one could ever imagine.

That night we stayed in Malaysia Nature Society (MNS) research camp site which is right smack in the middle of BOH tea plantation.

Also home to these 3 adorable little puppies.

That place was surprising well equipped – we cooked our dinner on our own, ate at the balcony/walkway while the 3 puppies running around entertaining themselves. I personally think they are just plain happy to see two legged-s around.

Did I mention when you wake up all you see is this??

Imagine what would one give to have this as a backyard?

I have heaps of meeting every single day and those darn meetings takes up all my execution time, hence I still have to work extra long day to get all my things done - so that explains why I am not here - constantly at least!

The Long awaited trip

Finallly got a chance to blog about it.

3 years is what it took for us to finally put action above words. We’ve been going on and on and on and on about going for a trip together since graduation but nothing came out of it till one day, when we all got fed up and decided to finally go to airasia.com. From there……The Great Bangkok Trip was planned.

The 4 musketeers up for the long awaited road trip! It wasn’t all danty and nice when it came to planning I must admit. Gazillions of mails bounce around simply because we couldn’t agree on one thing as all four of us have different agendas in mind. In the end? We ended up with…….NO ITINERARY! duh~

So yeah, an impromptu trip it is. But knowing each and every one of us has this “uniquely us” kind of attitude – surely one would anticipate it to be a stressful trip…. Subconsciously at least…..but then it turned out pretty good.

The 4 of us are all in different fields and in different locations/states, came together in the airport on the day of our departure. Seeing the smile on the 3 monkeys face upon my arrival just made all the stress I had built up earlier disappear. From thereon, everything just fell into place. It has been soo long, I almost forgotten how much I love spending time with them.

Michelle & Dolly got what they wanted – shopping. Jusey got to go to the Grand Palace that she was talking about non stop.

…and I too got what I wanted. The Tiger Temple where we go to pat, feed, play and kiss the four-legged-not-so-furry-cubs.

It all when well till the last day, just hour before we fly back home…….I got picked pocket! Devastated of course, but I did held my composure (pretty well too I must say) so I won’t ruin the trip for me and for them. Fuck it, it’s just money….will earn more la, kan? Lucky thing was the passport was kept separately, or else I had to be an immigrant AND miss my 1st day of work in Grey.

Commited today, dead tomorrow

I’m making a commitment today. Now that I work a relatively more regular hour job, I suppose I have more time in hand to update this place – not that I have a lot to say, but heck – why not? I will attempt to keep this place active….. =)

Yes, I have changed job yet again. No, I am not a job hopper, nor am I trying to prove something. For some reason I am creating that impression. Working in Grey Worldwide is a complete culture shock for me. Coming from a super unorganized events company that name itself Nasty Inc – it’s not much of a surprise. But I AM finding it rather difficult to cope. It’s slow and yet fast pace in there. Half the time I am caught off guard of the initiatives progress because emails just comes flying in like there’s no need for server tax.

For I am grateful though to be given the opportunity work on a regional account, not many is as lucky. The creative team is awesome – they are like a bunch of civilized monkeys! They talk very diplomatically, they are not crazy nor are they sane, they don’t argue much with clients and they don’t screw you for not knowing anything – they just put the blame on your boss simply because they don’t like her. Hell…I don’t mind that, who would right?

Speaking of bosses, my current boss is a lady boss. Knowing lady bosses, they can be quite a pain. I am yet to decide but according to everyone who had worked with her and still works with her, she is a….in a more constructive manner, a Tai Chi Master. Oh no, if you think I’m going to blog about how sucky my boss is, you are wrong! Like I said, I haven’t quite yet decided….1st impression still stays…..for now~

The past 1 month of so, things have been looking up. Highlight was of course Darshini’s wedding. I still can’t believe she got married though. Have not seen her in 2 years, and when I finally saw her on her hen’s night, I completely forgotten what I wanted to tell her –it’s like my train of thoughts just went into some invincible tunnel that had no ends, but then again, there’s no need for words. I was just happy to see her and hug her for real. Deb was back too for her birthday (which I completely forgotten) and Dar’s wedding. A very long way just for a wedding – that’s what friends are for I suppose. I miss her heaps too, more then she thinks at least.

All in all, it was a very happy occasion for all of us. Bebe & Ashley were a joy to have around too. The two and their weird antics is what brighten up everyone’s day. Although we only manage to spend THAT much time together, I believe each and everyone one of us truly enjoyed each other’s company (at least I did)

Pictures speaks louder than words aight?
