The girl that cried in the fun fair

She went to work that morning, thanking God it was a Friday. She was looking forward to the day as she will not be doing the ordinary mundane routine of going to the office – instead, she will be working from a shopping mall where her company had an event. She knows her boss will not be around hence she can work at her own pace and be sane for a day.

But that didn’t happen on that Friday. Instead, it got worse every hour. She held all her guts in, put on a mask and survived through the day. It was a horrible day to be her that day. She needed someone to talk to, someone to comfort her. She took out her mobile wanting to call someone….as she was looking through the address book, reality hit. She does not have anyone to call. She doesn’t know who she should go to. She sat there, failing to exist for a while.

A friend called inviting her to a Fun Fair in town. She jumped at it. She needed to go somewhere. She needed to cheer up. But the moment she stepped into the Fun Fair, her toes and fingers went numb. She felt a knife piercing through her heart. She couldn’t breathe. She looked around. Everyone were smiling and laughing, having fun. Everyone had someone or with someone. She…..she wasn’t laughing or smiling, she was practically alone. She was angry. She was sad all at the same time. She felt tears building up around her eyes. She walked away, sat down in a corner. She cried in a Fun Fair!

Who does that?
